Lara Friedman’s research article published in The University of the Pacific Law Review meticulously documenting the origins, strategies, forces behind, and impact of efforts to harness U.S. laws to the cause of attacking and suppressing Palestinian activism and solidarity.
In July, 2023, the Law Review published Lara’s detailed research article examining the coordinated efforts of certain pro-Israel actors—starting in the early 2000s as a response to the launch of the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement and continuing through the present day—to use U.S. state and federal laws to delegitimize and suppress Palestinian activism and redefine support for Palestinian rights as antisemitism.
